It’s a brave person who makes the long journey to the other side of the boerewors curtain, but zaLUG are those brave people, and we did trek. All the way to Springs on the far, far east of Gauteng.
Getting up before the sun comes up is old hat for the members who’ve been around for a number of years, but this time around we had quite a few members who had to deal with this for the first time.
Luckily for us there was a coffee shop right across from where we were displaying, so the tired eyes were perked up by numerous cups of coffee.
With just under 10 000 people coming past our displays, the day was a huge success! So much so that the competition we were running for members, whereby they needed to build an 8×8 vignette with a minifigure was so impressive that we increased the amount of prizes from 1 to 5!
The quality of the builds were outstanding and we’re always glad to see our members building more MOCs.
For the first event of the year, it was a resounding success, and we’re looking forward to many more throughout the year!
Photos below are the zaLUG’s 8×8 minifigure vignette competition entries. Winners will be announced at our Annual General Meeting at the end of May 2019. Good luck to all entrants!
